I've always had a love for growing things. Working on the family farm with my father, Joe, and mother, Lettizia, since early childhood fostered an appreciation for all things agricultural. At the age of 16 some friends and I had an acre of vineyard that we tended for fun. However, as we got older the responsibilities of adulthood prevailed and the vineyard fell by the wayside as we pursued our careers. Twenty five years later I found myself dissatisfied with the vegetable market and was looking for a new direction. Vegetable farming just wasn’t what it used to be. After some reflection, it seemed that turning my family’s farm into a thriving vineyard and pursuing my dream of opening a winery was the natural direction for Bellview to take. With the blessing of my wife, Nancy, Bellview Winery was born.

From my experience, growing grapes and making wine is one of the most energizing, challenging, humbling and rewarding adventures to be part of. It involves the beauty and complexity of nature, knowledge of science and creativity of art. How to work with all these variables to meet our goals in an enjoyable and sustainable way is our challenge.
